About Diabetes Performance

For over a decade, I’ve worked with active people and athletes with Type 1 Diabetes. And I keptseeing the same pattern: people who loved being active but were stuck in a cycle ofunpredictable glucose values, hypos, uncertainty, and guesswork.

I clearly remember one of those people: Amy. She was referred by her diabetes care team to offermore specialized guidance on managing her glucose during running. She was training for her firstmarathon, something she’d dreamed about for years. But every long run ended the same way:unpredictable crashes, constant hypos no matter what she tried. She was ready to give up.

Amy switched to a hybrid closed loop system the previous year. She thought it would makeexercise easier, but it felt even more unpredictable than before. Despite using the activitymode, increasing her carbs, and trying different timing strategies, nothing worked. She’d triedevery guideline she could find online, but the resources were either too vague or toosurface-level to address what she was facing.

What stuck with me wasn’t just her frustration. It was that the guidance she needed simplydidn’t exist. Not at the depth required, not personalized enough to actually work for hersituation.

That’s why I built Diabetes Performance.

Why I Built This Platform

The challenge with managing diabetes during exercise isn’t effort or motivation. It’s that theguidance available to most active people with Type 1 Diabetes isn’t specific enough, deepenough, or personalized enough to actually work. Generic protocols might work on average butfail most individuals. Online advice is often too surface-level. And personalized expertguidance is nearly impossible to access.

This platform exists to change that. To give you in-depth, evidence-based resources built atreal clinical depth, interactive tools that help you understand your data, and when you need it,personalized consultations to analyze your specific situation and build a plan that fits.

By the way, Amy finished her marathon six months after our first consultation. She told meit was something she never thought would be possible with diabetes. That transformation, from “I’m ready to quit” to “I just did something I didn’t think I could do,” is why I lovehelping people like Amy.
